Friday Flash 55 - Burn Time

Each Friday I write a short story in exactly 55 words. If you'd like to join in the fun and games, write your story, visit G-Man and let him know you've posted.

She’d been holidaying in Tahiti for a week. Staying out of the sun to protect her pale skin.

Every day another tanned person commented,” You’re so pale. First day here?”

She finally had enough and sat out in the sun all day without sunscreen. It took three days to recover from her sunstroke. Never again.

Yes, this happened to me once. Ouchie. Don't forget to slip, slop, slap this Summer. Not much chance of that today, it's pouring with rain. Actually, we haven't had much of a Summer at all so far :(

Have a great weekend and a Happy New Year.

Love KB

  5. Nice story. It amazes me when people can tell a tale in such a short space. I'm very wordy.

We haven't had much of a winter this year. Feels like spring. Don't know if it'd work to switch our weather or not.

  6. Sun? Isn't that something to be avoided? Forget even the first day. I'll be sitting in the shade, watching everyone else wrinkle.

  7. Ouch! That truly hurts!

I guess the weather is strange everywhere. Truly not like it should be here either. Normally, we schlepping through snow, but mostly we've had rain, too.

Hope the rain stops and you get to slap on some sunscreen and enjoy some sunshine, KB.

    Happy New Year!

  9. When I lived in Northern MI, we didn't see the sun for six months... But here in NC, yes, we must use sunscreen in the summer.
