All Ready For Christmas

I've just returned from the clinic after having some blood tests done. My blood pressure is too high so just having some more test to make sure everything else is OK.

Whitesnake did the Christmas shopping while I waited in the car so now we're all set for Christmas.

Bye for now

A Fun Weekend

Hi all,

Whitesnake and I had a fun filled weekend. On Saturday we headed out to our neighbours' home for Christmas drinks. We believed we'd stay for about an hour, but ended up staying for four. It was good to get to know our neighbours better and we had a great chat and a few laughs.

The next day we visited my parents for coffee and a catch up and that was fun too.

Hope you are well.

Rest In Peace, Linda

I'm sorry to say that my auntie passed away recently after a long battle with cancer. She survived it once before, but it wasn't to be this time.

She had a wicked sense of humour and lived life to the full.

Rest In Peace, Linda.

Happy Days

Enjoyed a relaxing weekend with my hubby. My parents visited so we could have a catch up over coffee.

Today has been cold, but sunny. I had a leisurely walk with Coco. About to cook Honey Soy Chicken wings for dinner and relax for the evening.

It's all good.

A Quick Update

Hi my blog buddies,

We have had a busy week ahead including several appointments for me and Steve and even Coco was involved with a trip to the torture chamber (AKA the dog groomer).

Now I plan to get the house spic and span before the weekend as Steve has arranged some time off to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and we want to spend the time relaxing, not doing chores. I can’t believe it’s been almost a year already. We are planning on a quiet weekend at home with yummy meals and good company and no you are not invited, he he.

See you later

Hard to say goodbye

I’m still finding it difficult to come to terms with my friend Greg’s death  and I expect I will continue to do so for a while.

I was feeling fine on my way to pick Steve up from work the other night until I heard ‘In A New York Minute’ on the radio and the lyrics made me want to burst into tears.

Greg was the last person to sleep in our spare room  and usually I leave the sheets on the bed and strip them from the bed and wash them just before he comes to stay so they are nice and fresh. I decided it was time to strip the bed, but I just couldn’t do it. It’s hard to accept that he’ll never sleep there again. Perhaps I’ll be able to strip the bed next week.

Sorry to be all doom and gloom but it helps me feel better when I write about these things. It’s my way of processing my feelings.

Catch of the day

I love animals and am genuinely upset when I hear of animals in pain, but I honestly thought the story I’m about to tell you was a joke.

Peta has written an open letter to the manager of New Zealand’s national aquarium to request they take fish dishes off their menu.
"We're calling on the National Aquarium of New Zealand and the Fish Bowl Cafe to get their act together", says Peta Australia Director of Campaigns Jason Baker. "How can people take the aquarium's supposed respect for fish seriously when they open their menus and choices of fish's body parts are staring them in the face?"

The letter also reports that fish are intelligent animals which feel pain. I understand that fish are intelligent and feel pain, but I don’t expect they are going to look out into the dining room from their aquarium and say, “OMG, they’re eating Uncle Brian!”

I find the whole story ridiculous. What do you think?

Bye for now
