Life Goes On

A week after the devastating terror attacks, I've been trying to stay busy.

A year after my detached retina surgery and all went well at the optometrist. Eye is still looking healthy, no cataract as yet and I'm getting new glasses in a couple of weeks.

My eye a year ago

Earlier in the week, I was featured on Poets United website.

I'll leave you with an evening SkyWatch

Remember to tell the people you love how much they mean to you as often as possible. You never know when the last time you see them will be.

See you next week

  1. Love that last bit you said, we never know do we? And you are lucky the retinal surgery was successful. My son survived a retinal tear (unknown cause) many years ago, he had successful laser surgery.

  3. Yes, avoid misunderstanding and make up. Relationship and time is precious. We never know what will happen next. I have floaters and doctor told me its a sign of ageing.

  6. I'm glad that your eyes are healthy again, but I feel sad that this senseless shooting that has disrupted your peace and everyone else.

No one is ever ready for an attack on our lives, a detached retina or to lose someone we love, because if we knew in advance, we would try to protect ourselves. I lost my daughter a few years ago and I'm glad that I told her on every occasion how much I loved her and her siblings. It's the same with our spiritual life. We must be ready because we never know when our life will be cut short. It's inevitable and we must be ready when our time comes because we don't know when it will happen.

The sun is shining this morning and the snow is melting here today.
    Hugs, Julia

  8. It's wonderful that your eye healed. I had cataract surgery last year on one eye and it was incredible to see cearly again out of it. You are so right about telling people you love that you love them. In today's world you never know what will happen the next minute.
I like your photo, it's beautiful. Have a wonderful day!

  10. Good news on your eye. So sorry about the attack. I am glad to see that New Zealand is trying to prevent future such attacks. Here our politicians just say such things are not preventable.
