An update from our Prime Minister
New Zealand's darkest day
Yet I have nothing to say
Anger trapped inside
Emotions I try to hide
Numerous countries I have roamed
But New Zealand, she's my home
Her freedom and her safety
You will never take from me!
My poem has been shared with Poetry Pantry
Thank you all for the love and support you have sent New Zealand during this devastating time.
Love KB

Karen, I am so sorry. A truly horrible event. I admire that your Prime Minister immediately said gun laws would be changed, unlike the U.S. yes, your sense of safety will be impacted. These must be very hard days for you. Take care.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteWhat a tragic and horrible event. My prayers go out to the people of New Zealand. Everyone in the world deserves to feel safe in their own country.
Sad and shocking – and must be so very distressing and unsettling for you all.
ReplyDeleteWhat an absolutely horrific incident - once again. My prayers are with the people of New Zealand and all who have experienced such tragedies in the past years. May hatred of others end....somehow. May people be able to worship and live as they choose without fear. Indeed a dark day, and yes - anger!!
ReplyDeleteThe news left me horrorstruck too. I am so sorry that New Zealand joined the sad fraternity of places afflicted by violent bigotry. I am glad that you and your husband are physically safe, but as a US citizen (and one who was less than a mile away from the mass shooting in Pittsburgh when it occurred) I know that there is no escaping the mental anguish of being so close to such evil.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about this terrible news.
ReplyDeleteI'm horrified at such a senseless massacre at the mosques in your country. I can't understand such hatred. My husband and I have been praying for all those affected by this horrific tragedy.
ReplyDeleteHugs and prayers,
Julia
It's heartbreaking. I am still in shock.
ReplyDeleteMy heart breaks...
ReplyDeleteMy heart goes out to the victims too. If we let these terrorists (of any type) change our way of life they've won.
ReplyDeleteShocking and heartbreaking.
ReplyDeleteShocking, sad and sickening.
ReplyDeleteThere is something very special that happens to a nation when we no longer feel safe... I have felt it too
ReplyDeleteSo life goes on ............... xxxx
ReplyDeleteSadly we here in the states no too well the horror of gunfire. We have to rise up and live and work for a better day.
ReplyDeleteA horrendous tragedy - the magnitude of which, is almost unfathomable. Sadly, there is no place on earth, where good people can keep themselves out of the way of hate.
ReplyDeleteOne good thing that's come out of it is that it's bought our country together more instead of driving us apart. Let's hope we don't have anything like this happen again.
ReplyDeleteMy prayers are with you and the people of New Zealand. It is indeed a dark day.
ReplyDeleteA very significant poem.
ReplyDeleteIt has been a horrible and shocking event, I am praying for the people of New Zealand.
Of course I saw it in the News too it was broadcasted everywhere ! We had an attac here at our airport and in the tube ! It's just not understandable and this guy was even more vicious because he filmed himself ! So sorry for the victims !
ReplyDeleteshocking news. I pray for those still in hospital and those who have lost loved ones. Why can't people live in peace.
