Autumn leaves changing

Preparing for the winter
The darkening of the days
Winter now consumes me
I take myself to bed
Hide under the blankets
Shake the monster from my head
Spring is now upon us
A change is in the air
Basking in the sunshine
I hardly have a care
Summer rain cooling
Reminds of change to come
Darkness will fade away
The battle has been won
Very very good and exactly how I feel about it
ReplyDeleteThanks ladies.

I'm probably way out of line but I think this is more about you than about seasons, it feels so personal.
ReplyDeleteI love the poem and the way you write
This is great! I am always in awe of people who can write poetry, especially good poetry like you. I can't write it to save my life. Good luck going with the flow and I have a new installment to the story up :)
ReplyDeleteToadee -Bingo! You know me too well.
ReplyDeletePatti - I've missed you. I'll head over for a visit shortly.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Means a lot coming from someone as talented as you x
when i read this I had such a weird feeling of duality as I was writing a poem about the seasons in my head and preparing to get something down on paper. I'll leave it a while now so that you don't accuse me of being a copy cat ;)
ReplyDeletePost it Toadee. I wanna see.
ReplyDeleteok I posted it
ReplyDeleteI'll head over for a look.

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this stroll through the seasons and especially love the phrase ‘the past falls away’ to describe autumn, and imagined the summer rain cooling – delightful!
ReplyDeleteA great reflection of our own personal seasons, beautifully worded. I'm in my Fall season as I age and I'm reflecting on that season, trying to take it all in.
ReplyDeleteStay well. Hugs, Julia

Ah, you're from New Zealand, thought maybe I overslept .A truly lovely poem but I think I'll put it away until November.
ReplyDeleteNature paints the best pictures, and you've captured the art of the seasons yummily... in this circle that reminds us that regardless of what is happening now, tomorrow will bring something new.
ReplyDeleteWonderful poem and I see I already commented on it in 2008 and Missy as well. She introduced me to poetry :)
