Friday Flash 55 ~ The price of crime

It's Friday, it must be time to write a story in exactly 55 words!

Hi all,

It's been almost a year since I last wrote a 55, but I've been rather busy. Let's see, I finalised my divorce, sold a house, became engaged, bought a new house, married Whitesnake and visited South Australia for our Honeymoon. Phew!

Here's my short story for this week...

A sharp knife against his throat, for the sake of a few dollars. The robber serves time in prison, provided with food and shelter. The victim requires counselling, while trying to keep his job and a roof over his head. He relives the trauma the remainder of his days. Who is paying for this crime?

Family Time

Whitesnake and I were invited to a family bbq while we were in Adelaide. I'd already met some of his family, but it was fantastic to meet some more and they made me feel right at home. There are too many pics to post here so I'll just share some of the pics of us oldies :)

Out and About In Glenelg

Now that Whitesnake and I are all settled in at home, I thought it was time to share some more pics from our holiday.

What I loved about where we stayed was how close we were to everything. Just walk out the door and you have a huge variety of places to eat, shops to browse through and the beach to enjoy. We spent most of the morning exploring Glenelg and enjoying the sunshine.

Followed by a delicious roast dinner with family.

Settling In

Another beautiful day in Glenelg. After a delicious breakfast at a local cafe, we crossed the road to board the tram. I've never been on a tram before, the seats were a little small and hard but the scenery was nice. We had almost come to the end of our journey when an announcement informed us of a delay. An offer was made to disembark to walk or bus the rest of the way but we decided to wait it out. Ten minutes later, we were on our way again passing the people who had elected to walk or wait fot the bus. I guess we made the right choice.

We arrive at Central Markets a short while later, buying some yummy treats for afternoon tea. Notice the name of one of the stalls?

Headed back to the Motel for a walk around the Marina and beach.

Back at the motel, Whitesnake received a message from one of his daughters asking if we were free for a visit. Once she had arrived, we headed to the pub for a snack and a couple of drinks. Was so lovely to meet her and her partner, I felt like I already knew her from our interactions on facebook but it was lovely to be able to meet her face to face.

Managed to stay up till eight o'clock, lol.

Welcome to Glenelg, South Australia

Hi all,

After an early morning wake up at 4.30, Whitesnake and I headed off on our Honeymoon. The flight was pleasant, a light breakfast while we watched The Bourne Legacy. We arrived in Adelaide after a four and a half hour flight. The temperature was mild and the sun was shining, a nice change from the cold and rain we had left behind. There was a huge queue for taxis so we hopped on the bus. After a short ride and walk, we arived at our Motel in Glenelg.

I was famished (there's a 2.5 hour time difference so it was way past lunch time for me), so we headed out for lunch.

What I love about where we're staying is that it's a 2 minute walk to the small town and beach, so everything is really handy.

It was quite a long day and with the time difference, we were in bed by 6.30pm. A lovely day.
