Spaniel Cam

Hubby and I recently watched an episode of ‘Secret Life of Dogs’. This week, dogs were being filmed while they were home alone and the results were rather upsetting to me. There was whining, howling, barking and many other forms of separation anxiety.

Coco isn’t left on her own very often, so when we went out last night, we decided to do a little experiment of our own. I set up my camera in the lounge and we headed out for a couple of hours.

I’m happy to report that the video was actually really boring. Coco ate her chew treat, drank some water and spent most of her time in bed. She wasn’t even waiting at the door for us when we returned.

I'm so happy with these results.

Coco Visits The Torture Chamber

Hubby and I have had a busy week. Our appointments with CADS and the Gym went well, so far, so good.

Mum and Dad returned from their holiday in Australia and stopped by our place on their way home. Hubby and I made them a cooked breakfast of bacon, hash browns, toast and eggs. It was lovely to see them and they thoroughly enjoyed their breakfast.

Coco was due for a visit to the torture chamber (dog groomer’s). She doesn’t enjoy being clipped and it took many years to find a groomer she was comfortable with. Last time she was clipped we were very disappointed with the results and we later discovered that the kennels had changed ownership. Luckily we found a new dog grooming place where Coco feels comfortable and the groomer did a wonderful job.

I’m looking forward to a relaxing weekend.

Book Review: Burnt Offerings by Laurell K. Hamilton

Burnt Offerings is the seventh in the Anita Blake series of books by Laurell K. Hamilton.

Anita Blake is a vampire hunter. She takes us into the world of vampires and other monsters. I would describe this story as a mix of horror, thriller, fantasy and erotica. There were some scenes which left me feeling rather uncomfortable, but I enjoyed the character of the leading lady so much that I wanted to read more.

I didn’t realise Burnt Offerings was a book from a series until after I began reading it. I was able to follow the plot without reading the previous books, but I’m really looking forward to reading the series from the beginning.

That's all from me today.

Catching Up With The Parents

My parents recently moved to Tauranga, which is about three hours drive from where Whitesnake and I live.

They are going on holiday tomorrow, making a perfect opportunity to catch up as we live near the International Airport.

We had originally organised to go out for lunch, but my parents were quite tired after their drive. They requested some of Whitesnake’s delicious sandwiches instead. I have the best husband ever!

A good time was had by all and we will see them again when they return from their holiday. A lovely day.

New Zealand's Men In Black

Good afternoon my friends,

Feeling good today, I’ve just watched Australia and New Zealand compete in an exciting game of Rugby for the Bledisloe Cup. Australia and New Zealand compete once a year for the cup and our Men In Black (All Blacks) will retain the cup for another year.

Speaking of our Men In Black, I’ll share below Air New Zealand’s Safety Video featuring some of the All Blacks. It’s a lot of fun to watch.

I'm Back

Hi my friends,

I’m so sorry I haven’t been around lately. Last year was a terrible time for us; hubby was bullied at work, two of our dearest friends died and then hubby lost his job.

I went through a stage of not having anything to write about. That’s unheard of for me as I find writing very therapeutic.

Anyway, I’m back now and hoping to get back into blogging again. I’ve missed blogging and my blogging buddies.

Hope you are all well.
