We're Going To The Zoo, Zoo, Zoo

Recently while in London, we took a trip to the zoo. I'm always excited by the prospect of seeing animals but have mixed feelings about zoos. I realise some of the species which are near extinction are in there to help continue the species but look at this beautiful girl. I shed a few tears when I saw her; locked up and bored out of her mind. Wonder what she's thinking.

I the rest of the day was good; the butterfly house and the aquarium being the areas I enjoyed the most.

  3. London Zoo is wonderful, as is Regents Park in which it's situated. But like you I do have mixed feelings about animals being held captive with nothing to stimulate them.

Do you think butterflies get bored too?

  8. I don't think they live long enough to get bored Keith. The guide showed us a butterfly which only lives for 12 hours. Wow!

Thanks for your kind comments Erik.

Im sure they laugh at YOU Toadee *giggles*

I think she would need a huge bunch of bananas Jadey.

  10. That photo of the gorilla is worthy of a magazine - you should send it in to some Gorilla trust somewhere - I hate zoos for that very reason - I can't bear the animal's sadness. Great blog - thanks for visiting me so I could visit you!

  11. Shame on you,KB. Shame shame shame!
Don't like zoos and by the look of the gorilla, he's not too enamoured either.
Only people should be in cages.
