She felt threatened and sat back further in her chair. She did not want him too close to her, certainly not as close as Tom had been.

    Hmmm... it seems like whatever the experience with Tom was, it wasn't positive? Or at any rate, that it's the opposite of what she wants now. I'm interested - nice teaser!
