Community Pantry

Look what we discovered while we were taking a walk this morning; a community pantry. Available for the community to drop off food for the less fortunate to collect as needed. Hubby and I dropped off an item we had left over from a Christmas hamper. A wonderful idea.

  2. Happy New Year to you, too! The food pantry is simply brilliant. I've seen similar done with books ... but food for the soul comes second to a good meal.

  10. That's a good idea, but I'm cynical enough that I wonder how many people grab food from it that don't need it. I'll stick to my more traditional donations. Happy New Year!

  14. Impressively, I've seen these as we drive around. It's so nice to know they are there for those who need them.

  15. We had the same idea here and installed even a fridge. Unfortunately we had to take it away because the food was stolen not by people who needed it. Now we have a room and those who come are checked. Isn't that sad ??

  18. That's a great idea. We have an excellent Community Resource Center here in town plus a very well stocked food bank. The Resource Center also opens overnight for homeless people to sleep from fall through spring. - Margy
