I always imagined Christmas preparations would be something I'd get better at with age, but it seems the older I get, the less prepared I am.
Haven't written any cards or bought any presents but I've finally put the Christmas tree up.
Feels strange decorating the tree in 24 degree heat. I've been living in New Zealand for 25 years and the only thing I miss is a white Christmas. I don't think I'll ever become accustomed to Christmas in summer.
I've got exactly the same. It doesn't feel like christmas at all here. Oh how I used to love sitting all together with a wine and a beautiful meal while outside in the dark the christmas lights are shining everywhere.
ReplyDeleteNow it is BBQ in the sun
Yeah, we usually have a roast at mums and we all sit there boiling from the heat.
ReplyDeleteHard for me to imagine heat at Christmas!
ReplyDeleteIt is cold in California!!!
I thought it was always sunny in California, lw.
ReplyDeleteIt's sunny wherever some people are. You just make it so.
ReplyDeleteNow there is some dickiebo philosophy, LOL!
ReplyDeleteNot always sunny here, we have some rainstorms in the winter.
Sunny today tho, and 55 degrees!
I'd change places! It's usually grey and cold here on Christmas day. Certainly dosn't snow.
ReplyDeleteI think it is amazing to have Christmas in summer. It is cold here but I doubt that we will have a white Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI'm struggling to remember the last 'real' white christmas but I do love the image of snuggling up next to a roaring fire with my dream woman and glass or 3 of mulled wine watching the snow turn the trees to crystal.
ReplyDeleteWell, it's even hotter today people.
ReplyDeleteMissy - you're making me hungry
Toadee - you're making me thirsty
and all of you make me smile everyday.
Love ya
