Here's my teaser:

First paragraph:
I made my stage debut at the age of five. I was in the St. John The Baptist Kindergarten production of Mrs. Jingle B. It was a Christmas pageant with singing that sounded more like screaming in unison. The dancing looked like a bunch of drunk bunny rabbits trying to find their way home after a bender.

Intriguing! I'd love to read the rest of this!
ReplyDeleteOoh, the teaser is quite interesting! That fine line can be a complicated thing to balance.
ReplyDeleteI don't think she got the balance right,
ReplyDeleteand she erred on the side of telling
me more than I could handle.
Love the above KB! There is no telling of kids these days. Parents don't really know what to expect. Parents cringe expecting 'no holds barred' sort of info bandied about!
Hank
That's quite the cover! The teaser and the opening are both good.
ReplyDeleteHello KB!
ReplyDeleteVery interesting! Thank you for sharing!
Have a great week!
Dimi...
You have captivated me with the teaser, and I look forward to reading more!!
ReplyDeleteLove the thought of a pageant with drunken bunnies... you made me smile.
ReplyDeleteI don't think this is the book for me, but I hope you enjoy it. See what book Susan is featuring at Girl Who Reads
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a child we were told..."Little piggies have big ears"...and the adults were referring to pigs.
ReplyDeleteChildren over-hear and learn much...too often things they're too young to understand. Somethings that will stay with them throughout their lives...unfortunately, to their detriment.
Adults should be at all times aware of the harm that can be caused to children...the everlasting mental harm.
i enjoyed the description of your stage debut....it would probably be accurate for all of us!!!
