Poetry: Message In A Bottle

Message in a bottle
Swept away by the sea
Secrets held within
Dreams of you and me

Message in a bottle
Tossed to and fro
Emotions hidden inside
Ensnared, nowhere to go

Message in a bottle
Washed up on the shore
Waiting to be found
Love lost no more

Message in a bottle
Read and set free
Never to be trapped again
Our dreams of you and me

  1. I always seem to enjoy storys that include the message in a bottle idea and I like the way you rhyme it into your poem.

  3. I got a big message in a bottle once, in fact, too many bottles. Red wine bottles, white wine bottles, scotch bottles. I discovered that I was hooked on bottles. I never wrote about them though - just drank everything they had in them. One day I finally got the message - stay away from the bottles. Now I write.
Good luck to you and keep up the writing - it's great stuff!

  6. I'm glad your bottle was uncorked. Tender poem with a happy ending. Doesn't get much better.

Now all you need is a Genie in a bottle to go along with that.

Thanks for visiting my blog...please don't be a stranger.

I'd been off-line for the past couple of days...lots of activity going on outside my cabin...tree-loppers doing what their name suggests! So I had know phone and no internet connection...the latter was driving me more insane than I usually am! :)

  21. I too thought of the song "Message in the Bottle" now I have that looping in my head.
The last line brings release and stands out. It would be fun to find a message in a bottle.

  25. It is always sad to think of messages in bottles never reaching any destination so it is good that this one has been found especially as love is involved. What a delightful read this is.
