SUNDAY SCRIBBLINGS

The prompt this week is - ADULT

When I was a wee girl, all I wanted to be was a grown up. All that freedom they had, being able to say and do as they pleased, make the rules, stay up late, watch TV whenever they wanted, play music really loud, go to parties, stay out all night, didn't have to eat their veggies, etc, etc.

Now I am an ADULT I can say and do as I please but have to deal with the consequences. I have to follow rules the same as everyone else. If I watch TV for too long my eyes get tired. I have to eat my veggies to keep me regular. When I play music really loud I wonder what the neighbours think. If I go to too many parties and stay out all night, it takes me a week to recover.

Man, I wish I was a kid again!

But seriously folks. I think finding a balance between being a sensible adult without losing the child within is key to remaining happy and healthy.

Have a great weekend everyone

Hubby's SS is the post below.

  4. It's funny. I remember the first time I went grocery shopping with my new husband. We were 22. It suddenly hit us that we could buy anything we wanted to eat and not stick with the brands and foods we had always eaten. It was a rush of excitement. Of course we soon settled in with the same boring old food.

  5. I like your closing thought. My post is actually about a similar topic--the balance of good and bad that comes with being younger.

  9. You've hit the nail on the head..so true finding the balance between the two is so important. Infact those lucky one who find the balance are the ones who r happy most of the times.
Kid life is the best time of a human being...no tension..just enjoyment, sometimes little knowledge makes life beautiful :)!!

  13. This is a very well done response to the prompt on but yours and your hubbys part. But I can remember the bad parts of childhood too. It wasn't all fun and games.Though there was lots of that.Adults tend to forget the other bits and romanticize childhood.

  14. And the number one thing wrong with adults today? Not allowing the consumption of helium.

  15. I make it a point to take my inner child out on a playdate at least once a week. Just me, my inner child, and some good old fashioned FUN without rules or silly adult inhibitions.
    It's very cathartic.

  17. seems like we always want something just a little different. balance is a great way to approach life but when you all off, fall to the child side. Life is more fun that way.
