ANIMAL CRUELTY

I've been following Eve's progress since Christmas. She's a ridgeback puppy who was found locked under her owner's house without food or water. She was too weak to walk and was described as looking like a "chicken carcass". A spokesperson from SPCA estimates she hadn't been properly fed for FIVE weeks.

OMG, I'm crying as I write this. I remember seeing the horrific pics of her while I was at the supermarket and bursting into tears. How can people do this to animals? They should be shot! The heartless bastards still haven't been found but I'm happy to report, Eve is doing well and has been placed with a new family.

Click on the link below to visit her blog and read more of her story. There's a cute video on there too (makes me cry every time).

  1. Well, you know me, KB; you can imagine my rage...I'm thrilled, though, that the wee dog is recovering. Unfortunately the same can't be said for either the greyhound, abandoned in the fucker's car who crashed it and fled the scene leaving the animal shut in the vehicle indefinitely (the poor thing later died), or the Border Collie (you can see how that would affect me more) left in the back of a Dept of Corrections wagon for FIVE days in blazing heat. When eventually opened, it was said the dog had been "baked" as if in an oven (which for all intents and purposes, in that heat, was what the vehicle became), and his paws where bloody where he'd desperately tried to dig out through the steel floor.
I get close to filling up myself when I imagine the animal's distress as its life ebbs away.
Such despair is followed by a rage that knows no bounds KB - none.

  7. How can there be this much hate in the world?

I hate this kind of stuff. I'm glad that she was rescued.

The horrible thing is that animals are considered "property" by many instead of the companions they were meant to be.

  8. I hear ya, Morgy. Some people shouldn't be allowed to have pets, same as some people shouldn't be allowed to have kids.

  9. I'm so glad that she is recovering and that she is now with people who will care for her and for whom she can care.

Why do people even bother to have a pet if they treat it so badly, it makes no sense.

  15. Oh it is terrible that such things can happen in this world. Life can be so beautiful but we need to treat animals like children with love and affection.
