They'll serve you well

When life is hard

As tough as hell

Hot summer nights

Lying in bed

His strong shoulders

Resting my head

Laughing and loving

Wasting our days

Entombed in our room

Set in our ways

You doing your thing

Me doing mine

Coming together

For beer and wine

Life carries on

Memories remain

Don't let bad times

Leave their stain

Hi all,

A busy week for us with appointments with the doctor and the dentist. I have experienced difficulties with blood pressure in the past so it was fantastic to hear that my blood pressure was perfect!  

Whitesnake and I don't have a lot planned for the weekend so I'm looking forward to lots of reading and blogging.

She builds me up

When I'm feeling low

No need to think

The words will flow

Sometimes I giggle

At the lines we share

Did I write that

Blissfully unaware

When I'm stuck in a rut

She whispers and taunts 

Words don't make sense 

Her rhymes she flaunts

Silently mocking 

When I'm feeling my best

Lurking beneath the surface

With my misery suppressed

She knows I'll be back

We are one and the same

Her words I must write

Or she'll drive me insane

She's gives herself freely

Time and again

I can't thank her enough

Sows the seed

Wanting, yearning

Fulfilling needs

Momentum builds

No turning back

Doubt consumes

Fuels the attack

Whispers abound

Rumours spread

No searching ahead

Lies take on

A life of their own

Anticipate the dawn
No thoughts of our Saviour
Or the day he was born

Tossing and turning
No sleep to be had
Excitement is growing
Driving me mad

Peer through the curtains
Searching the sky
Hoping perchance
To see him fly by

Squeals of delight
He surely has been
Little sis impatient
To share what she's seen

Skip through the kitchen
Crumbs left on his plate
Gifts galore surprise me
Santa was definitely worth the wait

Ensnared, nowhere to go

Washed up on the shore

Waiting to be found

Love lost no more

Read and set free

Never to be trapped again

That’s how we used to meet

Our partners beat us down
Surviving them quite a feat

They tossed our dreams aside

Such stupid goals to make

Said their ways were better

But they came across as fake

Now we are together

Our dreams each day unfold

Never forget your dreams

No matter what you’re told

Poem : Racing in the moonlight

Hi all,

I haven't checked in for a while because life has been getting in the way, but all is good.  I'll leave you with a little poem and see you again soon.



Racing in the moonlight

Across the silky sand
Two lovers laughing
Connected hand in hand

Placing a warm blanket
On the soft ground
Waves crashing nearby
For them the only sound

They cuddle close together
She’s safe in his strong arms
He promises to protect her
She’ll come to no harm

The pitter patter of rain drops
Feel cold on soft skin
They run back to the car
Begin warming themselves again

I’m on way
To living a life
That was taken from me                                    
When I was his wife

I'm feeling better
As each day passes
No longer trying to please
Those meddling masses

Life is good
It’s taken a while
To feel at peace in my skin
Return to my smile

All my love is
Just for you
Sounds corny
But it's oh so true

All my life waiting
Just for you
Never imagined
You'd feel it too


The rest of my life
Just for you
Old loves forgotten
Don't compare to you

Poem : The old me

The old me was weak
That is what you told me
Constant criticism
I began to believe your story

I finally found another
Who pulled me up, not down
The old me is no more
True love I have found

Exhausted from the day just passed
I stumble into bed
You're lying there fast asleep
I rest my weary head

I toss and turn, I cannot sleep
You fold your arms around me
Your touch takes my pain away
All is as it should be

There you are again
My trusted friend
Just when I need you most
You appear like a ghost

We've been through thick and thin
We probably will again
I close my eyes and think of you
And there you are again

Forever Young

His mind is full of the memory of her
The comforting sound of her heartbeat as he rests
Her intoxicating smell beneath sweet perfume
As he leans his head on her breast

I'll return at nightfall my love, she says
Two hundred years between them no shame
His restlessness increases as he awaits sunset
He needs to be near her again

Being a vampire in love is tough
He'll lose his true love to age
Living forever young is his curse
From which he cannot be saved

I Hear Wedding Bells

It's official - Whitesnake and I are engaged!

One morning last month, Whitesnake informed me he had written a poem. There was nothing unusual in this so I told him I'd read it when I was online later. A little while later, he asked me again if I'd read it. I thought to myself that it must be a good one so I went to the computer to have a look. After reading the first couple of lines, I jumped up and said," Yes!" We were intending to keep this news between us until we told my parents but that wasn't to be.

Whitesnake and I post our poetry to the Helium writing site and a little while later, Whitesnake recieved an email from one of the Helium channel managers saying how wonderful his poem was and if she could share our story with Helium. We agreed and our story was posted to the Helium blog.

We attempted to inform my parents face-to-face a couple of times since then but couldn't due to illness and holidays. Finally, we could wait no more, we visited my parents this morning and shared our happy news.

Keeping Up With KB


Feeling a bit blah the last few days mood wise but there's still a lot going on I suppose. Whitesnake has started his new job and all is going well there. House is still on the market, no offers as yet but some interest. Have had three session of CBT so far. Felt on a real high when I left the session last week as I felt I was making a lot of progress but since then, been feeling a bit unmotivated. I have homework from the session each week and I haven't completed any so far. Perhaps I shall go and do that now and see how I feel after.

You Are a Nonchalant Valentine

You're happy to celebrate Valentine's Day if your sweetie is into it, but it's really not your thing. You think love transcends commercial holidays, and you definitely don't put a lot of stock in V-Day. Your perfect Valentine's Day date is low key and easy... No gifts if you can help it. You think it's a lot more meaningful to spend a quiet night at home together than to go to a fancy restaurant.

Keeping Up With KB

Wow, it's a boiling day out so I decided to stay inside by the fan. We are having the strangest Summer, lots of rain and wind. It's hard to adjust when we finally have a few hot days.

One of my resolutions earlier this year was to eat a good breakfast every morning. I've made this resolution before and it hasn't stuck but so far so good this time. I found a really great website...
Special K  which has daily exercise tips and food plans. Whitesnake and I have been following the breakfast suggestions on there which has made it much easier to stick to our goal. I haven't been following the exercise plans as yet but that is next on my list.

I love writing poetry but have been having a hard time finding anything to write about lately. I picked a title at random today and just went for it. I think it's pretty average but at least I've started again. Better luck tomorrow me thinks. There is an upside to my bad poetry writing though...I do my best work when I'm depressed...so I must be happy right now. Yay!
