Beginnings
Here's my poem for One Shot. Hope you likey.
Beginnings are so wonderful
The spirit soars, the heart is full
Hard times and worries melt away
Thinking of him gets me through the day
Romantic music, candles and flowers
Staying in bed, talking for hours
Sleepless nights just being together
You know that this will last forever
I wonder when we begin to forget
Those special feelings when we first met
Time is spent surviving the daily muddle
Who has the time or energy to cuddle
But I love him more and more each day
I know we'll survive, we'll find a way
So I'll think back to the first time we kissed
And know time spent together is not to be missed
Don't worry all is good in the KB and Whitesnake world. This is about a relationship I tried really hard to make work but in the end, it just wasn't meant to be.
Whitesnake's One Shot is here.
I'll be back later with Walkabout Wednesday
Love KB

together you will make it through...some sweet moments you captured in your one shot KB...keep that fire burning. smiles.
ReplyDeleteDont worry Brian, all is good here. This is about a previous relationship I had. I added a little note at the end of the poem to explain :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I wonder if we ever really stop loving. A relationship can end, but the love may continue. Nice one.
ReplyDeletewhen the romantic candles are burned down..and everyday life starts..not easy..reality check
ReplyDeletesome beautiful captured moments and a call to work on a relationship - nice!
p.s.glad it's not about your current relationship..all the best for you
wow... so powerful!
ReplyDeleteEvery relationship begins well, no matter how it ends. So the memories are there.
ReplyDeleteNicely done.
when Beginnings are always that passionate, they normally don't last..i prefer deep beginnings that takes time to grow slowly they last more even against time odds..:) but i enjoyed your description here..real and well written KB..happy your world with the white snake is beautiful forever..:)
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone. You always say the nicest things.
ReplyDeleteWe all need the hope you speak in this poem.
ReplyDeleteYes, hope is very powerful.
ReplyDeleteSometimes it doesn't take much to get back to those "in the beginning" feelings of excitement with one another. I enjoyed how wonderfully you expressed the joy and the sadness in this realization. xo
ReplyDeleteExactly, difficult to define when the magic may fizzle. Smooth flow again this week. Nice. Happy to learn through the "disclaimer" that all is well :)
ReplyDeleteThis poem really describes the progression of a relationship from those thrilling first steps of discovery into the commonplace of everyday life. Until I read your comment at the end, I was thinking you could rename the "Marriage."
ReplyDeleteyou have a talent for bringing out those feelings and experiences we have all had x
ReplyDeleteYour comments are really interesting this week...keep 'em comin'.
ReplyDeleteDear KB
ReplyDeleteIts nice thought about you too and I enjoyed this so much.. nice memories and thoughts...thanks for sharing...

ReplyDeleteHmm it really does describe the progression of romance doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteSad how love can become commonplace
but I cant imagine anything with Whitesnake being commonplace - glad you have each other
Thanks for the great One Shot
hugs from the Moon
I love you KB..as always you did good xxxx
ReplyDeletemoonies spot on about the progression of romance...enjoyed this...dont think we ever forget past loves but learning from the mistakes makes the current love all the more sweeter....cheers pete
ReplyDeleteLovely poem. Beginnings are so wonderful but so are the middles.
ReplyDeleteThat relationship may not have worked but I'm glad your current one is. :)
ReplyDeleteBeginnings are wonderful but as it goes What ends well is well...

I think most of us have been there, KB. Even in the light of a better Present, we still sometimes lament things in our Past. Nice One Shot.
ReplyDeleteI love the message in this. I wrote a poem to this effect last year. It's so true. Love takes a lot of work.
ReplyDeletelove the message here.. we all just need to keep the faith
ReplyDeleteThaks everyone.
