My contribution to this week's Friday Flash 55, brought to us by the wicked but lovable Mr G-Man.
The scores were level at full time. The game went into extra time, the teams couldn’t be separated, the game went into extra, extra time . The winner of the match would be the team that could get ahead by two goals. After a nail biting finish…Gold to the New Zealand Silver Ferns Netball Team.

NZ and Australia are great rivals in sport. This was a very physical, exciting game. Both Australia and NZ played very well but it always gives me great satisfaction when one of our teams beats the Aussies. Congrats to the Silver Ferns on winning Gold at the Commonwealth Games!
P.S. After reading a few comments, it's apparent some of you don't know of Netball. Just follow the NZ netball link up above, which will take you to the NZ netball website, if you want to find out about it . Netball is very popular here, it's amazing to me that some haven't heard of it. Shows what I know, hehe!
Have a great weekend all.
Love KB

I know what you mean! I hearmy college ice hockey team has beat the team we've been rivals with, and 23 years later I'm still all "YESSSSS!!"

Thanks for all the comments. I've added a link to the post which will take you to the NZ netball wesite so you can find out more...I had no idea so many people didn't know what netball is. It's very popular here :)
ReplyDeleteOK, add me to the list of those who'd never heard of netball. But unlike Toadee, I know about the All Blacks, who routinely kick everybody's butt at rugby.
ReplyDeletePatti - it's similar to basketball but mainly played by women. Toadee knows very well, he's just being a smartarse.
ReplyDeleteI remember netball. The girls used to play it at school while the lads did rugby.
ReplyDeletesounds exciting! haven't seen a match like that in a while.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of netball but it sure sounds exciting. Very well done. Have a wonderful weekend :) Great 55 my friend :)
ReplyDeleteHow exciting...in both the tournament AND your rendition in 55 words.
ReplyDeleteMy 55 is a double whammy this week, two for the price of one. Of course, as always, you need to scroll down below my Friday's Show n Tell.
The link is HERE I'd love to have you stop by for a visit.
OMG KB, That game was HOT!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have NEVER been a Netball fan until I got in the car to come to work that night, there I was hooning down the motorway in my little toyota, yelling at the radio at the top of my lungs "KICK SOME AUSSIE A*SE,GIRLS"!!! waving a hand, punching the air or the steering whel, the truckies passing me must've thought I was totally mad. The score creeping up one by one, neck and neck, one ahead, neck and neck, one behind, neck and neck, one ahead, I almost couldn't stand it. I sat in the basement garage at work waiting for the game to end. I know they could see me on the security cameras, yelling at the radio in the car, IT was just TOO MUCH!!!
All in all a awesome effort by the girls, and rather Cheeky of Temapara George too, copping a hug from Prince Edward, more power to her though. Can't wait to see their next performance. :D GO KIWIS!!!
Way to go ladies!!!
ReplyDeleteFirst I've heard of Netball
Thanks for that rousing 55
