Early years, caring for others,
casting her needs aside.
Mind and body in their prime,
ticking clock far from her mind.
His relief, as each month passes,
her desperation hidden inside.
Brimming with wisdom, bursting with love,
she welcomes her second chance.
But her body grows weak, time marches on,
Mother Nature will finally decide.
Whitesnake's One Shot is here
Have a great day/night all.

You babe are brillant at putting feelings and emotions into words that everyone relates too. xxxx
ReplyDeleteIncredibly written, this really pulled me in with the emotions in it, not sure why or how I personally relate a feeling as to when much time was dedicated to a grandparent, everything else, set aside, after trying to recollect.
ReplyDeleteAmazing impact! ~April

ReplyDeleteWow...stunning!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Thanks everyone, especially Whitesnake xxxx
ReplyDeleteSo well written, expressing the minor frustrations of spending our energies early to help everyone else, then when we take time for ourselves... being too tired to do as much as one would like.
ReplyDeletebeautiful and deep -- a longing described eloquently.
ReplyDeleteVery lovely.. I enjoyed every bit of it...
