A Fun Break

Hi all,

Whitesnake and I enjoyed a quiet Easter break, followed by my birthday. I spent my birthday reading the third instalment of The Game of Thrones books, opening presents, eating lovely meals that my hubby prepared for me and drinking wine. Loved it!

Here's my photo for Skywatch...

Poetry: Together

A poem for my husband (Whitesnake) on his birthday.

Dreams of you
and me together.
Souls entwined,
for now and ever.

Candles lit,
music playing.
Red wine flowing,
bodies swaying.

Probing tongues,
exploring mouths.
Hands and fingers,
heading south.

Clothes are falling,
skin exposed.
Senses awakening,
from head to toes.

Lost in each other,
bodies entwined.
I am yours,
you are mine.

I remember writing this during a period of my life when Whitesnake and I were apart; but we had decided that we wanted to be with each other again at any cost.  It was complicated! We've been together now for ten years and it's the best decision I ever made.

Happy Birthday my love

Keeping Up With KB

Hi all,

It's been a couple of weeks since I've posted because we've been busy enjoying ourselves. Last week was Mum's birthday and Father's Day, so we headed out to my parents' place for a yummy feast. A good time was had by all.

A friend of ours who I've known for thirty years, recently moved back to our neck of the woods, so we had a catch up earlier this week. The last time we saw him was at our wedding so it was lovely to share a couple of yummy meals, a few laughs and more than a few wines. We convinced him to stay the night rather than drive home. We made him breakfast before we sent him on his way and I was chuffed that the poached eggs I cooked came out perfectly...I've been practicing.

We spent the rest of the day having a bit of a tour around our neighbourhood. Even though we've lived here a little while now, there are still areas we haven't explored. We found a great place to walk Coco, (she loves the sea), really looking forward to going back there with her.

We dropped Coco off for a haircut later on in the day so she's prepared for the upcoming warmer months. Check out the before and after shots...

Today, we bought a new barbeque, water blaster and lettuce to plant in the garden in preparation for the spring weather.

A great week for us.

Hope you are all well,

Love KB

Keeping Up With KB

Hi all,

Whitesnake and I have been suffering with a rather nasty virus for the past couple of weeks, but it looks like we're finally on the mend.

On Sunday, we enjoyed a delicious meal with my parents to celebrate my Dad's birthday. I was a little dubious about the meal as it was at an Indian restaurant and I wasn't sure how my sore tummy would react to a curry. I ordered a vegetable korma with garlic naan bread and rice and was surprised I managed to eat most of the meal. It was sooooo good. All that food and a glass of wine for $14, excellent! The setting was the beachfront and the company was great.

Some parts of New Zealand have experienced an earthquake and aftershocks this week. Luckily, there hasn't been too much damage and nobody has been killed. I remember when I moved to NZ fifteen years ago, earthquakes weren't a common occurrence, but since the huge quake in Christchurch a few years back, the frequency has increased. I've only experience a short volt a few months ago and that was scary enough. Here's hoping New Zealand settles down again and everyone stays safe.

I LOVE reality TV so I've been enjoying watching The X-Factor NZ style. Jackie Thomas won the X-factor title this week and I'm so happy for her. A talented young lady who appears to be a real sweetheart. Let's hope she stays that way and doesn't fall in with the wrong crowd.

Of course, this week will be remembered for the birth of the royal baby. I'm so pleased the baby is here and healthy. Wonderful news.

I haven't written any articles this week, but I'm looking forward to getting back into it in a couple of days.

Well, I think that's all from me folks. Time to chill out in front of the heater and enjoy the rest of the day with Whitesnake.  Hope you are all well.

Happy birthday, dear blog

My dear blog will be six years old on Sunday. It's hard to believe I wrote my first entry so long ago. We've been through a lot together; the break up of a fifteen year marriage, the break down of me (OK, make that the many breakdowns of me), a new romance, a different life, a divorce and a happy marriage.

She's always been there for me. I used to get so lonely when my ex was away for his job.  I'd write about my day and things that were on my mind to share online with perfect strangers who became great friends.

Since I've met Whitesnake, my dear blog has become rather neglected. Now when I have something to share or discuss, I do so with best friend, Whitesnake.

I do believe now that I am happy and settled, it's time to dust her off and start blogging every day again. I've missed my old friend.

Hmmm, now what to write about?

See you tomorrow.

Visiting Time

I'm looking forward to spending a few days with Whitesnake's brother and sister-in-law. Just a little more cleaning to do and if I have time, I'll wash Coco...she'll hate that. Fitting in a trip to my parents today too as it's my Dad's birthday tomorrow. Busy, busy, busy. I'll be back in a few days with some pics.

Be good.

Weekend Walkabout ~ Pine Harbour

Welcome to Weekend Walkabout, a place to share and explore the different corners of our world.

It was Whitesnake's bithday earlier this week and one of the ways we celebrated was to head out to Pine Harbour for a Walkabout.

First stop The Jolly Roger

followed by a few old cars and bikes

it was really windy

and a coffee at Pepperjacks

Walkabout is a phrase which means to walk around and explore with no specific destination in mind. Have you been walkabout anywhere interesting this week? If so, post your story or pictures to your blog, leave a comment here and a link to your post on our Linky and Whitesnake or KB will come take a look. Don't forget to put a link to Weekend Walkabout so others can find us and join in the fun.

See you tomorrow

Keeping Up With KB

Holiday time is over for Whitesnake and I, time flies when you're having fun.  I missed half of it because I was sick with a cold but I'm feeling much better now. We had a few nice meals out, caught up with my parents, watched a few movies and had lots of sleep. It was really relaxing and fun.
Whitesnake celebrated his birthday with a few friends, ( I was in bed).

Whitesnake and the boys

He went for a couple of interviews during his time off and I'm pleased to report, he starts a new job soon. I'm so proud of him.

Our veggies are growing really well. I'm so excited about this because I haven't been able to grow much in the past. I remember one time when I was younger, doing the weeding while my ex was at work, I thought I was doing great but apparently pulled out most of the flowers and left the weeds behind. Ex was not very happy and it put me off doing any more gardening. Seems like I do have a green thumb after all and I'm really enjoying looking after my babies and watching them grow.   You can read more and see more pics or our veggie garden here.

So, I'm going to spend today catching up on my internet stuff (never ending job). Tomorrow, it's back to working on 30 days to a happier, healthier me. Actually, I've been quite good while I've been on hols, haven't drowned in wine or pigged out too much.

Speaking of pigs, there is to be a new animal welfare code in NZ to stop pregnant sows being kept in crates. Yay! There's still much to be done regarding animal welfare and farming but this is a huge step in the right direction. I remember a while ago, signing a card (along with many Kiwis) and sending it to my MP and thinking, this is probably a waste of time, nobody listens to the people but something was actually done this time. Fantastic news!

P.S. Kiwis - don't forget to observe 2 mins silence at 2pm in remembrance of the Pike River miners.

Hope you are all well.

LIVING WITH WHITESNAKE

Steve and I recently went away for a night, as a belated birthday celebration. We had a great time, as the pics will show. Perhaps I should have checked with Steve before I posted the bath shot, hehe!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

It's almost my birthday. Went out with Steve and my parents last night to celebrate.

Steve bought me this beautiful makeup kit and a manicure set. I feel so spoilt.
