More 30 Days Of Me

I'm taking part in the 30 days about me challenge. Here you will learn some interesting and fun things about me.

Here's the 30 day challenge

day 26- what do you think about your friends

Is it just me or are these questions getting silly? Obviously, I love my friends and I enjoy their company or they wouldn't be my friends, LOL!

day 27- why are you doing this 30 day challenge

I wrote a post about why I'm doing this 30 day challenge when I first started (back in September last year, yikes, this has taken me a long time).

day 28- a picture of you from last year and now

Last year

Me now

day 29- in this past month, what have you learned

The first thing I've learned is that it's taken me a very long time to finish this 30 day challenge. There were times when I got bored with it and wanted to just stop doing it but I continued on and finished, so that's a good thing. It's almost a year since I began this challenge and I know I've grown a lot, emotionally, mentally and physically (not physically outwards, hehe, physically on the inside).

I haven't really learned much more about myself from doing this challenge but that wasn't my intention. I wanted to get back to writing on my blog about me as I felt I had lost track of what my blog was about. I think I've done that but I've also learned that my blogging changes as I do and sometimes I write about me, other times poetry, photos and memes and that's OK too. My blog is a reflection of me and my life so whatever I'm in the mood to write about is fine.

day 30- you favourite song

Summer Rain by Whitesnake

Yay, finished.

More 30 Days Of Me

I'm taking part in the 30 days about me challenge. Here you will learn some interesting and fun things about me.

Here's the 30 day challenge

day 22- what makes you different from everyone else

Not sure how to answer this one. We are all unique and there are many things that make us all different from each other.

day 23- something you crave for a lot

Time with Whitesnake

Red wine

Time with Coco

Time with Mum and Dad

day 24- a letter to your parents

I wrote heartfelt letters to each of my parents a few years ago. They loved the letters and I'm really glad I did it. They are private and I won't be sharing them here.

day 25- what I would find in your bag

money
purse
note from Whitesnake
car keys
phone
almonds
credit cards
hanky
note book
pen
mints
3 lipsticks
tampons (you did ask)
water bottle
camera
spare battery for camera
2 lip balms
crossword book
neurofen
spare contact lenses
sunglasses
antacids
deodrant
sunblock
hand sanitiser

Believe it or not, it's only a medium sized bag, LOL.

That's all from me today,

Do I Hear Wedding Bells?

I'm taking part in the 30 days about me challenge. Here you will learn some interesting and fun things about me.

Here's the 30 day challenge

day 20- someone you see yourself marrying or being with in the future

I'm sure you'll all be shocked at my answer...hehe. Have you noticed how much marriage is coming up in these questions? Do you think someone is trying to tell us something? In answer to some of your previous questions, we won't be tying the knot soon but we'll be sure to let you know when we are.

What's In A Name?

I'm taking part in the 30 days about me challenge. Here you will learn some interesting and fun things about me.

Here's the 30 day challenge

day 19- nicknames you have and why you have them

This one is easy, my only nickname is my internet name. I'm crazy and I'm blonde but crazy blonde was already taken when I first needed a log in name. I changed the C to K and there you have it. It may interest you to know that when Whitesnake and I are married my initials will be KB. Meant to be or what?

See you tomorrow for more of Coco's Animal Antics.

Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This

I'm taking part in the 30 days about me challenge. Here you will learn some interesting and fun things about me.

Here's the 30 day challenge

day 18- plans/dreams/goals you have

My dream is to be married to Whitesnake. We'd live in a small but comfortable house in a little town with Coco. My parents would live close by. We'd have a veggie patch, a garden big enough for Coco and a couple of chickens, a big kitchen to make our Simply Delish meals and a bathtub for me to relax in. Whitesnake and I would spend our days at home together as we'd be making a comfortable living from writing and blogging.  Most importantly, we'd be happy and healthy.

That's all from me for today.
See you tomorrow.

I Wanna Be Whitesnake For A Day

At the end of last year, I began taking part in the 30 days of me challenge. I did half of the challenge then decided to start my own challenge...30 days to a happier, healthier me. I've completed my health challenge so I've decided to resume the about me, where I left off. Confused?

day 17- someone you would want to switch lives with for one day and why

Whitesnake and I are as close as two people could be but knowing someone is not the same as experiencing what their life is like. I'd love to change places with Whitesnake for a day to find out what it's really like to do his job and live his daily life. At the same time I would discover what it's like being a man for a day. Trouble is, I don't think Whitesnake could be trusted in a woman's body all day. I'm pretty sure I know what he'd be getting up to, he is a man after all, LOL!

It's All About Me

30 days of me - day 16

I'm sure you've seen enough pics of me to last a life time but day 16 requires me to post another. This is the most recent... taken when Whitesnake and I were brunching at a local cafe. The coffee was excellent and the food yummy. You'll be able to read more about it at a later date when Whitesnake and I start a new blog venture... Pubs and Grub. Anyway, enough of that for now, let's get back to me. Me likey this pic 'cause my hair looks cute even though I just rolled out of bed. Perhaps I should have bed hair more often. I'm rambling now so I will go and leave you in peace.

Have a great day. I'm busting to tell y'all some news but it's Whitesnake's news so I will have to keep you in suspenders till he spills the beans. Curious much? Hehe!

Bye for now

I Love My Blog

day 12- how you found out about blogger and why you have one

Me when I first started blogging

I found out about blogger from my good friend, Missy. She started a blog a few years back and encouraged me to do the same. I was unsure of what I would write about in the beginning but once I started, there was no stopping me.

I started blogging to connect with others. I was feeling very lonely and lost at the time. I began writing about funny things that happened to me during the day and really enjoyed the way I could make others laugh through my writing. Missy also introduced me to Friday Flash 55 which encouraged me to write a short story each week of only 55 words. You can read my first 55 here. This took me on a different blogging journey, I would continue to write about my day but I used the 55 stories as a way of processing things that had happened to me in the past and putting them into a short story. Once I started opening up, I found I needed another outlet and this was the time I began writing poetry on my blog as well.

I love blogging, I can sit down at the computer (often with no idea of what I will write) and the words flow out of me. I'm often surprised when I read back what I've written because I hadn't realised I was feeling a certain way or I had anything to say.

I started blogging to connect with others but it actually took me on a journey of reconnection with myself.  A journey I am loving and will continue to blog about for many years to come.

Happy blogging

Music To My Ears

30 Days Of Me

Day 10- songs you listen to when you are...

Sad

I listen to this one when I feel sad because it reminds me of my man (because it's a Whitesnake song and my Whitesnake made the vid for me) , how much I am loved and how far I have come and I feel better in no time.

Happy

I couldn't narrow this one down because when I'm happy, I usually have my music on shuffle :)

Bored

Who has time to be bored???

Hyped

When I'm hyped up and have a lot of nervous energy, I do strange things like scrub the shower and dance around with the vaccum cleaner. I like to listen to 80's music as I do this ( which reminds me of my younth) or I parade around the house singing into my  microphone (duster), pretending I'm Madonna or Britney Spears. This cleaning frenzy is usually over quite quickly as the exertion reminds me I am no longer youthful, Madonna or Britney Spears.

Mad

I'm presumind this means mad - as in angry and not mad as in insane. Kelly Clarkson goes on repeatedly when I am angry. This one especially takes me to a really dark place, makes me cry every time and helps me release anger .

I'm So Proud Of Me

30 Days Of Me - Day 9

Something you’re proud of in the past few days.

There's not one thing I can put my finger on specifically over the past few days but basically I'm proud of being the real me. After spending many years pretending to be something I wasn't to make others happy, I finally reached the place where I said enough is enough.  It feels wonderful to just 'be' rather than trying to be something I'm not and to know that people who really care about me love and accept me just the way I am. Yay, go me!

I'll be back later

Must Eat More Fruit...Cool, Wine's Made Of Fruit

30 Days Of Me

day 8- short term goals for this month and why

Don't you hate it when you want to answer this but you're already half way through the month? If it was the beginning of the month, I could list all these wonderful goals and you'd all be really impressed and then I would probably forget about them and so would you. Instead I will share the goals I made earlier in the month and report on how well I'm doing. Oh the shame.

1. Eat 2 pieces of fruit per day...not going too bad with this one but probably be closer to 1 piece per day. Unless I can count glasses of wine and then I'd be sweet. Wine has grapes in it after all, hehe!

2. 30 minute walk minimum twice a week. At the rate I'm going at the moment, I may be lucky to get in two walks for the month. Oops.

I'm focusing on my health this year and to be honest...I'm not doing too badly. Perhaps this little exercise will give me the added motivation I need. Or perhaps not, hehe!

That's all from me folks...time to watch a little TV, drink a little wine (to reach my fruit quota, of course, hehe)  and eat a little steak. There goes the diet for today, better luck tomorrow. See you then.

30 Days Of Me - My Gran

day 7- a picture of someone/something that has the biggest impact on you

The person who has the biggest impact on me is Whitesnake but I thought if I keep answering every question about him...you might tell me to get a room or something. So here's  a pic of me with someone else who has greatly influenced my life.

I used to spend my summer holidays with my Grandparents when I was a girl. I was quiet and shy when I was younger. Don't laugh, it's quite true. I would rather stay inside and read than go outside and play with my friends. Must be making up for it now, hehe!

I loved staying with my Gran, her house was like an oasis, somewhere I could go to escape from the real world for a while. Mum would drop me off on her way to work and I'd run inside. The first thing that would hit me when I opened the door, was the wonderful aroma of bread baking *drools*, often followed by a large dog licking my face (not so appealing). It's hard to explain how I felt when I was there. My Gran treated me like her little princess, I always felt happy, loved and safe when we were together. She would tell me wonderful stories about her life and I'd laugh until the tears ran down my cheeks.

We would spend our days walking the dogs, baking, working in the laundrette (not sure how much help I was there), visiting the library, reading, going to the market, and doing puzzles. Hmmm, funnily enough those are some of my favourite things to do...except the baking and laundry. I definitely missed out on the baking gene which the rest of my family have.

Gran's house was always full of cats and dogs. Stray dogs would often follow us home and we'd look after them until we could find a new home for them. I can remember her having as many as four cats and three dogs at one time - KB HEAVEN!

Sometimes I think I get my blondness from Gran and I don't mean the colour of my hair. I remember when I was about ten years old, Gran wanted me to have my picture taken with a pony. I love animals but this little horse looked a bit feisty to me. I told Gran I wasn't keen on standing next to it. She told me I was being silly and the pony was totally harmless. She proceeded to climb over the fence and stand next to the 'harmless' pony. The pony took one look at her and kicked her up the arse. I can still see the expression on Gran's face. Priceless! Does that sound like something that would happen to me or what? LMAO!

I was lucky enough to spend six weeks with her the year before she died. One day, she took me aside and removed a small note book from her bedside table. It was tattered and torn and obviously well used. I was delighted when I discovered what was inside. There were pages and pages of favourite quotes, poems and stories she had written. She used it to write down thoughts when she couldn't sleep at night. When I told her I did exactly the same thing, she grinned from ear to ear. All those years I thought I was the only person in the family who was interesting in such things. I should have know it was something I had in common with Gran. We are similar in so many ways.

I miss her very much and love her dearly. If I turn out to be even half the woman she was...I'll be very happy.

Cockle Bay, New Zealand

30 Days Of  Me - Day 5

A picture of somewhere I've been too.

I've travelled all around the world but as the old saying goes - there's no place like home. Here's our local beach, I just love going there for a walk with my man.  Always clears the cobwebs and makes me realise how lucky I am to live in beautiful, New Zealand. More pics of us enjoying our afternoon at Cockle Bay.

30 Days Of Me - A Work In Progress

Day 4 - a habit I wish I didn't have.

I'm sure my friends here know the answer to this one...

Ah yes, my old friend the drink. One of my goals this year was to cut my drinking down by half and I can honestly say...DONE! Actually, I'd say it's down by even more than that now.  Until recently, drinking had become what I did when I was happy, sad, lonely, angry, actually any excuse would do.

Thankfully, I've managed to make huge changes in my life this year (with the love and support of Whitesnake) and reducing alcohol has been one of the things I'm most proud of. I don't miss the headaches, the looking at my watch and counting down how many hours till I can have a drink, sleeping half the day away or the massive mood swings. Don't get me wrong, I still love a glass of red but it's not the most enjoyable thing in my life, like it used to be. Makes me sad to read that last bit back but at least I'm not in that terrible place anymore and I have no intention of going back there. I'd like to cut back even more in the future but I'm happy with my progress so far.
Cheers

30 Days Of Me - All Smiles, With A Little Help From My Friends

Day 3 - Share a picture of you and your friends.

Hmmm, this one really upset me at first. For those of you who don't know, I separated from my husband last year. I was having a look through my photos from when we were together and the images made my mind flashback to the times with friends we'd shared. Unfortunately, most of those friends have turned their back on me, which I guess means they weren't true friends to begin with.

Anyway, I shed a little tear and continued looking through my photos. I began to see a change in my face as I moved further away from those times. I'm not just smiling at the camera with a dead look in my eyes, I'm actually grinning from ear to ear. Then I thought about all the people who HAVE stood by me and those few who are gradually coming back into my life. I may not have photos of us together because I've either never met them in person or they have moved away but they are still very dear to me. Of course, my best friend of all is Whitesnake and he's been here for me every single day. So what if my closest friends are now my family, Internet buddies, people I haven't seen in years and my dog. This last year has shown me who my real friends are. They love me for being me, they love me unconditionally and who could wish for better friends than that.

30 Days Of Me - What's In A Name?

Day 2 - What's the meaning behind my blog name?

This one is pretty straight forward. KB stands for, Krazy Blonde because I'm crazy and I'm blonde. I  originally wanted to be Crazy Blonde but that name was already taken. I'm kinda glad because I prefer the misspell as it's even more me. So I began referring to myself on the web as KrazyBlonde, which was soon shortened to KB. As for the Do Not Disturb part, (originally Do Not Enter), in the early days of the Helium website , a few of us went kinda mad on the forum boards and started threads named as rooms, we had kitchens, elevators, a tavern and a front porch, just to name a few. There where so many rooms, I decided to make my own to disappear to with a 'do not enter' sign. Of course, if you say do not enter, people are curious and WANT to enter so the thread did pretty well.  Have a nosey if you like. For those of you who don't contribute to forums, this probably makes no sense but you did ask, hehe!

Anyway, the name stuck and when I decided to start blogging, I thought it would be the perfect name for my blog. The change from Do Not Enter to Do Not Disturb, happened when I was given a T-shirt with Do Not Disturb - I'm Disturbed enough already, and I thought it was pretty funny.

Yay, day 2...done!

Have a great weekend all.
